Another line of work is the decorative pieces deprived of their original functionality, such as a vase whose mouth has been closed. These are the pieces that mine ceramics, always the protagonist, and other materials, such as iron or small objects that had a previous life and take on a new meaning when combined with ceramics. 

“Quite often I start by making the pieces and when I look at theme it makes sense to add other materials. And other times I look at these iron pieces and decide that I am going to make a ceramic piece purposefully for them.”
